About MiniSplitZip

The short answer

MiniSplitZip is a small, independent site that turns public government data into a straight answer to one question: what would it cost to heat your home with a cold-climate mini-split? It is run by Dov Nudelman, has no lead forms and is funded by affiliate links, if any are active (see the disclosure).

What we do

We download NOAA weather, EIA energy prices and EPA ENERGY STAR equipment data, check them, and run them through one model. The method and the cleaned files are public on the data page.

What we do not do

• We do not sell leads or pass your ZIP to installers.
• We are not engineers or contractors. Estimates are not quotes and are not a Manual J.
• We do not hand-type prices or specs. If a number cannot be sourced, it is not on the site.

Corrections

If you find an error, say so and we will fix and date it on the method page. A contact address will be listed here once the site launches.
